Dreaming of a meaningful year in Israel before starting college?
Join us for an inspiring Info Session about the Yachad Gap Year Program in Israel, hosted by IAC in partnership with Program Yachad.
During the session, you’ll discover how your teen can combine personal growth, leadership development, and a deep connection
to Israel by joining Israeli peers in Pre-Military Leadership Academies (Mechinot).
Program representatives will share details about this transformative Gap Year experience, which includes learning, volunteering,
travel, and community living a life-changing journey before the start of college.
About the Program
Yachad is a 10-month Gap Year program for Jewish high school graduates from around the world who wish to experience
Israel up close together with Israeli peers in Pre-Military Leadership Academies (Mechinot).
Throughout the year, participants learn, volunteer, travel, and develop leadership skills, social responsibility, and a strong sense
of Jewish identity and belonging.
Life in the Mechina offers full integration into Israeli society: studies in Jewish identity, Zionism, and leadership, as well as community
life and social action projects.
Participants also embark on hikes and educational trips across Israel, take part in meaningful volunteer work, and improve their
Hebrew (or English) depending on their track. A dedicated team provides ongoing personal support and guidance throughout the program.
During the Info Session
You’ll meet representatives from the Yachad Program, who will introduce the world of Mechinot in Israel, explain the structure
of the Gap Year, and share details about content, support, logistics, and costs.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions, hear from program alumni, and discover whether this unique year could be the most meaningful next step before college, for life, and for a lasting connection with Israel.
